In an article on Luxury Daily, Jason John, Senior Marketing Director at Gilt Groupe suggested that they were seeing about 15% of their revenue coming from mobile devices. He talks about the fact that a brand needs to be represented across all channels and mobile users are expecting customised experiences. Clearly their strategy is working given strong revenue out of this channel.

On Friday 11th February, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop announced to the world that Nokia would be creating a strategic partnership with Microsoft to deliver Windows Mobile enabled Nokia devices. No one really considered that the world's largest handset manufacturer would throw out their own operating system, (especially given their MeeGo partnership with IBM) in favour of an Operating System that globally is in 5th place (at best).
